Gaming operator Zynga to lift layoffs: team not refining

Zynga, the once-beautiful social-gaming operator, is facing a grim survival crisis. After bad two-quarter earnings, Zynga's shares plunged, and management vowed to restructure the game product line in 90 days. The US technology media predicts that Zynga is not a leaner person, and that it will face layoffs in the future, in contrast to its heavily bloated rivals. The media points out that Zynga's workforce is less refined than its game rivals. Zynga closed several branches and laid off more than 630 people in the last quarter, but Zynga remains a huge company with 2,300 employees. In contrast, the popular game "Candy smash legend" developer King, employs only 400 employees, "Angry Birds," the well-known game developer Rovio, last year, the number of employees also only 518 people. Zynga employs four times times as many employees as these rivals. Zynga's bloated and inefficient staff were also questioned at the earnings analyst meeting, and Rich-greenfield, an analyst from BTIG, said Zynga was supposed to be on a larger scale. In the face of doubt, Zynga's chief executive, Don-mattrick, admits that Zynga deserves better results if Zynga can tap the resources of more than 400 employees, as king has in the potential of tapping more than a dozen people. At the beginning of June, Zynga announced its biggest layoff plan, cutting 630 employees, accounting for 23% of total staff. Zynga said it would save 70 million to 80 million dollars a year in operating costs after the layoffs were implemented. Last fall, Zynga also laid off 5%.
