According to Gartner, the global Server Revenue report shows that IBM is the fourth consecutive quarter of the market leader. Gartner's first quarterly report of 2009 was as follows: IBM increased the market share of UNIX servers by 2.1%, to 35.3%, and 8.6% higher than the second-ranked vendor. IBM ranked first for four consecutive quarters in the market with a server price of more than 250,000 dollars, with a market share of 35.2% in the first quarter of 2009, and in the US and Asia Pacific, where the market share was ranked first, by 34% and 39% respectively.
