GE and China Huadian to reach a $500 million gas turbine contract

BCC, Beijing, January 19 (Xinhua) The company announced that it had reached a 5-year gas turbine contract with China Huadian Corporation, according to the economic sound of the financial morning News.  General Electric will sell and install at least 50 gas turbines to China for heating and power projects. The deal is a larger effort by GE to expand the Chinese market. Earlier this month, General Electric announced it would sell gas turbines to Jiangsu Tianyu Energy Chemical Group. General Electric Chairman and CEO Immelt also plans to invest 500 million of dollars in China's research and development centers. General Electric said U.S. government officials expect the deal to "support" 2,100 U.S. jobs and further boost job growth.
