GE invests 1 billion dollars in the next three years to develop software

Sina Science and technology news Beijing time of November 17, the General Electric Company announced today that the next three years will invest 1 billion U.S. dollars for software development, to seek software to make its products more sophisticated and more profitable, and to develop solutions to customer problems. At the heart of this investment plan is the construction of a new global software headquarters in Northern California.  The headquarters, which is said to be in operation next year, will hire 400 software engineers and centralize management of GE's global software business. GE has achieved about 2.5 billion dollars in revenue through its software business, with 5,000 software engineers and more than 9,000 information technology engineers. (All)
