Beijing time March 9 Morning news, according to people familiar with the matter, the US mobile operator Sprint is in talks with Deutsche Telekom, hoping to acquire the latter in the U.S. subsidiary T. Sprint and T are the third and fourth largest mobile operators in the United States by user volume. If two companies merge, they will be able to exert strong competitive pressure on the top two at&t and verion Wireless. But the talks are still at an early stage and there are many hurdles and it is impossible for both sides to reach an agreement soon, sources said. These include the valuation of T, the ownership and leadership of the new merged company, and the development of a financial plan for the transaction. Deutsche Telekom declined to comment, but said everything was possible for the US subsidiary, including the sale. It was said that the terms of the Sprint's deal made it difficult for Deutsche Telekom to accept. The company wants to occupy more than half of the merged new company, so the sprint board will have the authority to decide on the new company's management candidates. They are very much in favor of the current CEO of Sprint, Dan Heisse Dan Hesse. Deutsche Telekom, on the other hand, has yet to agree to hold a majority stake. This is one of the major controversies between the two sides. The sprint last year just reversed the decline in revenue and a double dip in users. Some of the company's internal staff believe there is no need to take the risk of acquiring T. A sprint employee said: "There are quite a few people on the board who do not support the acquisition of T unless the financial situation improves." "(Yan Fei)
