Gfarm is a distributed file system developed in Japan, which is commonly used in large-scale cluster computing. It through the userland implementation, fuse installation, the use of a file http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/11872.html "> access to the location of data nodes, supporting the WAN Globus GSI. The user can control the location of the file replicas on Gfarm, gfarm can be used as an alternative storage system to HDFS, supporting Hadoop,samba and gridftp. It is a data-intensive grid application of the global file system, supporting the parallel I/O operation of the file, in the grid environment, Gfarm use Gsi[8] authentication, it does not accept multi-level limited agent certificate.
Gfarm version 2.5.1 includes error fixes for replicating metadata servers and recommends that users upgrade to this version. Gfarm and GFARM2FS now support OS X.
