The 2009 fourth quarterly domain name Industry Report shows: in the fourth quarter of 2009, the total number of global Internet domain names amounted to 11 million, showing the 25 anniversary of the birth of the global Internet since the steady growth. The report showed that, by the end of 2009, all the world's top-level domain names registered a total of more than 192 million, the figure compared to the total number of registered at the end of 2008, increased by nearly 15 million. In the fourth quarter of 2009, the total number of domain registrations grew by 2% compared with the third quarter of 2009, up 8% from the fourth quarter of 2008. (Zhi Qiang)
