Glusterfs is a clustered file system that scales files to several PB of data volumes. It gathers multiple storage bricks into a large parallel network file system through InfiniBand RDMA and http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/29912.html ">TCP/IP technology. Glusterfs is based on a scalable user space design without impacting performance.

The Gluster/glusterfs 3.3 Beta2 version adds unified file and object storage that enables users to access the same data store from the POSIX style, as well as a S3 or swift-style, restful API based on object storage. It also increases the HDFS compatibility of Hadoop, enabling Hadoop users and developers to use an outward-extending storage glusterfs.
