GNU Ed is a POSIX line-oriented http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/18444.html "> text editor that implements 8-bit sweeping. In a sense, it is UNIX's original standard text editor and is therefore widely used. For most purposes, it replaces the Full-screen editor, such as GNU Emacs or GNU Moe.

GNU Ed 1.7-rc1 This version of Ed now shows "Try" editing-"help" for more information. The GNU coding Standard recommends that the changed message in the quote character. The "-datadir" configuration option has been renamed "-Datarootdir" to follow the GNU standard.
