Graphene (graphene) is a monolithic, monolithic structure of carbon atoms, the thinnest and hardest-known nano-material in the world. Because of its extremely low resistivity, electronic migration is extremely fast, so it can be used to develop a new generation of electronic components or transistors that are thinner and more conductive. Because graphene is essentially a transparent, good conductor, it is also suitable for making transparent touch screens, light plates, and even solar cells.
Graphene appeared in the laboratory in 2004, and two scientists from the University of Manchester, who found graphene, were awarded the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics.
A general method for preparing graphene is to pass a carbon-containing gas into a high-temperature furnace, graphene is deposited on metals such as copper or nickel, but the real use of graphene requires that it be shifted from metal to substrates such as silicon or polymer films, which is more complex than getting graphene, and may damage and contaminate graphene.
MIT technicians recently released a new transfer method that can significantly improve the efficiency of the transfer process. Their approach is to create a metal panel that precipitates graphene on both sides of the metal rather than on one side of the original. Attach the sandwich plate to a glass. By stripping the metal and graphene, the graphene is left directly on the glass, which can be used for television or mobile device screens.
This method not only limits the use of glass, can be used in the production of solar cell flexible materials or directly on the silicon wafer.
Now the experiment has proved the effectiveness of the method, the next step is to further improve the production of high quality graphene. In the future, this technology may cause a series of far-reaching ripple effects in the fields of touch screen and solar cell.
