Sina Science and technology news Beijing time May 2 morning, the Japanese game developers Gree announced that the price of 210 million of dollars has been acquired by mobile game developers Funzio to develop games for European and American players. Funzio's games include "Crime City", "Xiandai War" and "Kingdom age", which have attracted many players on iOS, Android and Facebook platforms. A few weeks ago, it was reported that Funzio was financing 350 million of billions of dollars in valuations and was in contact with several potential investors by auction. This financing may eventually lead to Funzio being sold. 210 million dollars is still a good valuation for Funzio. The company previously financed about 20 million dollars from Ventures and Playdom co-founder Rick Thompson (Rick Thompson). In contrast, Zynga previously bought "You draw I guess" developers omgpop the price of 180 million dollars in cash plus a reward based on future performance. Gree is a billions of dollar mobile gaming developer in Japan, which is trying to reach the European and American markets. Gree's profit margins far exceed Zynga's, but as the Japanese market is saturated, Gree's space for growth has been limited. Last year, Gree also bought the game network OpenFeint at a price of 104 million dollars. However, Gree is not only a gaming platform provider, but also a game developer, so acquiring OpenFeint only solves one aspect of the demand. OpenFeint is just a platform, and gree needs game development capabilities. For this reason, Gree recently conducted a large-scale recruitment in the San Francisco Bay Area. The acquisition of Funzio also conforms to Gree's strategy in this regard. (D-Gold)
