The

OpenStack project ushered in yet another partner sponsor-Hitachi Data System (HDS) company. HDS Company's current annual storage and it sales of $4 billion trillion, their formal participation will bring new vitality to open source projects. Of course, HDS has been in the open source cloud field for many years. They have contributed a great deal of code, including cinder drivers for managing the volume storage under the OpenStack framework. The drive will be unveiled this fall in the OpenStack code Havana version of the official debut, HDS company http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/14054.html "> Hay, Vice president and chief engineer of the Information Technology Platform Division (ITPD), said.

Based on the success of the KVM management program, HDS has also made improvements to its own software. HDS's name now seems to be often forgotten-not to say that its $4 billion trillion annual revenue is not strong enough, but HDS still lacks a sense of presence under the stunning performance of Hitachi's $115 billion trillion. Since HDS CEO Jack Domme was appointed Hitachi Executive committee member in March this year, Hay says HDS's influence on the parent company will be further enhanced.
HDS announced the formal addition of OpenStack, also affected by the "Snowden event", that the private cloud needs significantly increased. According to Hay, Edward Snowden said the U.S. security service is collecting data from the public cloud infrastructure provided by U.S. service providers, raising concerns among many business users.
HDS will adopt an uncertain infrastructure in its own private cloud-that is, supporting infrastructure from Microsoft, VMware and today's OpenStack, he said. The private cloud sector is not an either-or world, hay: "Some customers are likely to use VMware technology in some business areas and OpenStack technology in other areas." "
When it comes to the OpenStack community, the focus has now changed from a mixture of the past to a current engagement. Almost all mainstream technology providers (including Cisco, Dell, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, and Red Hat) are involved, and most of them are board members of the OpenStack Foundation. But with all the exceptions, Amazon WEB Services and Microsoft refused to join. Even VMware, who bought Nicira last year to become a director, became a OpenStack supporter. In general, OpenStack is often seen as an open-source cloud infrastructure alternative, currently directed at AWS in the public cloud and VMware in the private cloud domain.
Note: HDS will discuss this topic with Robert Scoble of the OpenStack Foundation COO Mark Collier and Rackspace, at 12:00 noon in the Pacific Daylight Time.
