Heroku Launches database service

It is actually a new version of the service that Heroku has been providing to developers over the years, and it no longer requires users to host their services. Heroku has been optimizing open source software Postgres to make it meet its needs. But unlike Google or Facebook, they decided to start selling their isolated service. If they think their software is good enough to be accepted by the market without any other components, the move may give them greater success. Heroku at the outset that the market database services did not meet their needs, and began to optimize the Postgres, and eventually develop their own customized version.

Heroku Postgres has six different services, ranging from USD 200 to 6400 USD per month. The service will be timed in seconds instead of hourly billing as many other cloud computing services do. Heroku is confident in their reliability and safety, saying they have stored 19 billion customer data securely and handled 400 million transactions a day. They will also launch new technologies called continuous homeowner to further protect their users ' data.

But Heroku's parent company, Salesforce.com, previously launched their database service, called database.com. Although Heroku believes that database.com is more suitable for those applications that rely on Salesforce.com, we still doubt the overlap between the two.
