The meeting revealed that the co-operation between Hong Kong and Guangdong in 2010 has been remarkable, with a total of 41 policies and measures to open the Hong Kong service sector to Guangdong in the first attempt, and 2,237 in our province's service industry, with a contract value of 9 billion U.S. dollars, which accounts for 78% of the foreign investment in our province. 8 Branches of Hong Kong-funded banks have opened 10 branch offices, and Hong Kong banks have set up 95 business establishments in our province. Hong Kong-listed Guangdong Enterprises reached 121, with a total financing amount of more than HK $270 billion. It is noteworthy that there has been new progress in education and training cooperation between the two sides. The "Guangdong Industrial Design Training Institute", established by Hong Kong-Guangdong Cooperation, has already started recruiting students. Shenzhen plans to jointly run a school with the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Shenzhen to set up "the Shenzhen College of the Chinese University of Hong Kong". In addition, the cooperation in the areas of social and livelihood, such as medical and health care, endowment and so on, has been greatly promoted, and cross-border infrastructure construction such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge and the Guangzhou-Shenzhen high speed railway are speeding up, promoting the transformation and upgrading of enterprises and business environment.
