Hong Kong financial sector: The early introduction of CEPA Supplementary Agreement six details

The Secretary for Financial services and the Treasury, KC, led a delegation of the Hong Kong financial sector to visit the Guangdong Provincial government and its financial regulator yesterday, saying that the Hong Kong financial industry welcomed the measures in the Supplementary Agreement VI (hereinafter referred to as "CEPA Supplementary Agreement VI"),　　Many banks and securities companies in Hong Kong have expressed interest in launching the mainland business through new measures, and the industry hopes that the details will be introduced as soon as possible, so that the new measures can commence operation as early as October 1 this year. The Hong Kong finance delegation, led by KC, yesterday exchanged views with the Guangdong Provincial government and the financial regulatory authorities on the details and implementation of the financial market liberalisation measures in the Cepa Supplementary agreement six.　　This is the first time that the Hong Kong financial industry has communicated directly with the mainland authorities on the new initiatives in the form of a delegation. KC said the trip was mainly to follow up and understand the specific arrangements and timetable for the implementation of the measures.　　The vice governor of Guangdong Province met with a Hong Kong financial delegation. Zhou Gaoxiong, director of Guangdong Provincial Government financial work office, said at the meeting that the total financial assets of Guangdong province amounted to RMB 8 trillion and financial resources were abundant, hoping to strengthen financial cooperation between Hong Kong and Guangdong. Guangdong Province will also guide Guangdong qualified enterprises to list in Hong Kong and promote the development of financial markets in the two places.
