How to disable IPv6 in Ubuntu

5. Join this line blacklist IPv6
6. Save files and reboot the computer

For Kubuntu

1. Enter Kdesu kate/etc/modprobe.d/aliases under the terminal
2. Comment out this line of alias Net-pf-10 IPv6
3. Save
4. Enter Kdesu Kate/etc/modprobe.d/blacklist under the terminal
5. Join this line blacklist IPv6
6. Save files and reboot the computer

The computer must be restarted before it takes effect.

After you have done this, open a terminal and enter:

IP A | grep Inet6

If there is no output it means that IPv6 is really closed.

The above method does not apply to after Ubuntu 8.10 version of Ubuntu 8.10 version to prevent IPV6 need to add "disable_ipv6=1" after the boot kernel to do the kernel parameter direct delivery.
