Sina Science and technology news Beijing time November 2 morning, Hewlett-Packard (Micro-blog) announced in Tuesday, named Project moonshot plan. Under the plan, HP will use the ARM processor of Caldexa, a Texas start-up enterprise, to develop server products. The ARM processor has been far ahead of Intel's products in the smartphone and tablet markets, and HP's move marks the arm processor's penetration into Intel's most rugged fortress, the server hardware market. With the project moonshot plan, HP will develop energy efficient servers for enterprise data centers. Although HP says the next generation of servers will also use Intel's bullying processor, the news is still a major victory for arm. In large data centers, energy consumption has always been an important cost source. Many technology companies, such as Microsoft (Weibo), Google, Apple and Facebook, have large data centers. (D-Gold)
