HP CEO Leo Apotheker says HP is looking to build an open market that will provide HP's cloud computing system, as well as applications and services from other service providers and research partners. HP will also spend $2 billion to build its own developer platform. On the corporate side, HP will promote a hybrid model that combines public cloud platforms with private cloud services within the enterprise. For many large companies, having a mixed cloud environment will be overwhelmingly competitive for a long time to come.
