BEIJING, April 12, 2012 (HP)--Hewlett-Packard released a global market survey today, and the results show that when companies migrate to the cloud, they need to accelerate innovation, improve agility, and improve financial management through a hybrid delivery strategy.

Cloud computing's convergence and connectivity is changing the way delivery capabilities and information are used.

According to the HP-led survey (1), 80% Business/technology executives worldwide believe that cloud computing will reach or exceed virtualization or client/server technologies, becoming one of the disruptive technologies, and nearly half of the business/technology executives with the same view in China. The research also shows that while public cloud services and private cloud services will increase by 2020, traditional technologies will remain an integral part of the business.

In addition, in China,

• Currently, only 29% of the enterprise delivery model is cloud-based. Senior business/Technology executives predict that by 2020, the public cloud and private cloud delivery models will grow by One-third.

• The primary drivers for cloud adoption include rapid application development (60%), increased agility to respond to market changes (22%), and lower operating costs (18%).

• Business/It executives realise that implementing cloud computing will be key to advancing innovation and success. Currently, about One-second of CEOs and CFOs are developing cloud strategies for businesses.

• Companies are prioritizing cloud investments. Between now and 2020, 90% of companies are expected to spend 100,000 to 1 million dollars a year on cloud computing.

Respondents said concerns about security (37%), Transition (30%) and compliance or governance (15%) were the three major obstacles to their decision on whether to adopt cloud services.

As cloud services are deployed more and more widely, enterprises are in urgent need of a comprehensive strategy for enterprise regulation and compliance, which effectively controls and manages the IT environment. 40% of respondents admitted that their businesses were running cloud solutions that were not approved by it, while another 40% per cent had no clear understanding of cloud solutions running outside the IT department.

80% of business executives and 80% of technical executives said the problem would be scaled up, predicting that the use of clouds without it approval by 2020 would be as high as 50% per cent.

Businesses need a range of solutions that can help them shift safely to the cloud and minimize risk or service impact while implementing vendor-locked oversight. On the way to the cloud, businesses need a hybrid delivery environment that includes traditional it, private cloud, managed cloud, and public cloud products.
