HP (Weibo) launched its new Virtualsystem virtualization system in Monday, preconfigured with Microsoft's virtualization software to help companies deploy virtualization more quickly. HP Virtualsystem includes HP servers and Microsoft Hyper-V virtualization software, enabling customers to quickly deploy SharePoint, Exchange Server, and SQL Server. The virtual load, hardware and other resources can be managed through HP Insight control software and Microsoft System Center Management Center. According to HP, the new virtualization system offers customers a simple way to deploy private and public clouds, or a hybrid cloud. HP Virtualsystem and Cloudsystem are using the same architecture to consolidate storage, networks, and servers to reduce latency in the cloud's expansion. Cloud computing is so diverse that virtualization technologies, supported by cloud computing, are not all optimized. For example, a service provider like Facebook needs to handle a lot of small Web requests, so the hardware architecture chooses thousands of low-power servers. HP and Microsoft have teamed up with Virtualsystem to make it easier for customers to migrate apps to the cloud, and in addition to working with Microsoft, HP has partnered with VMware to launch a Virtualsystem virtualization server. The HP-Microsoft version of Virtualsystem will be officially available in November, starting at $175,500, including two models: VS1 and VS2, VS1 can support 750 virtual machines, and VS2 can support 2,500 virtual machines, which does not include the price of Microsoft licenses. VS1 can be configured with a maximum of 8 hp ProLiant DL380 G7 servers, 1Gb and 10Gb Ethernet, lefthand P4500 SAN from 14TB to 57TB. The VS2 can be configured with up to 12 ProLiant bl460c G7 servers, multiple networks and enclosures, and a lefthand P4800 SAN with a maximum of 84TB. In addition, HP has released a Superdome 2 server Virtualsystem system for companies using HP's uninterruptible systems, such as financial institutions based on the Intel itanium® processor and HP-UX operating system. But HP did not offer the price of the system. Share to:>> more
