HTC will unveil its new flagship mobile phone one Max on October 15, the Wall Street Journal reported October 8, adding fingerprint recognition to the new product.

The news was leaked to the paper by two people familiar with the matter, and if the news were true, it would be another flagship product with fingerprint recognition following Apple's iphone 5s. It is not clear which applications support HTC One Max's fingerprint recognition, and whether the feature can be paid and unlocked like the iphone 5s is still unknown.

While fingerprint recognition has become a growing standard for mobile devices, analysts say the scope of the feature is still limited. Fingerprint recognition has been used in laptops for more than 10 years--in 2000 Toshiba has already added fingerprint sensors to its laptops; in 2011, the world's first mobile phone with fingerprint recognition, the Motorola Atrix 4G, which runs the Android system, was born But then it was forgotten by the user because of the bad experience.
