Recently, Huawei announced the successful completion of the LTE Advanced Category 6 connectivity test, download speeds up to 300 Mbps. The test uses Huawei SingleRAN equipment and Qualcomm's fourth generation 3G / LTE multimode solution - Qualcomm Gobi 9x35 processor.

Currently, SingleRAN is widely available worldwide, and the Gobi 9x35 is the first commercial cellular modem in the mobile industry to be manufactured in a 20-nanometer process. The latest features of the Gobi 9x35 modem include broadband 40MHz LTE Advanced Carrier Aggregation and LTE Category 6 with peak data rates up to 300 Mbps. LTE Category 6 effectively doubles the peak downlink rate compared to Category 4. In the next phase of LTE Advanced, carrier aggregation reaches a wide frequency (40 MHz) level, and 20 MHz carrier aggregation has also been commercially deployed and implemented with the previous generation Qualcomm Gobi 9x25 chip. Operators worldwide are now facing not only 40-MHz carrier aggregation but also a large number of LTE carrier aggregation bands based on the LTE bands in their area.
