Huawei is working to develop its in-house telecoms equipment and information technology to compete directly with US Cisco, HP and Avaya. In order to expand its corporate telecommunications business, Huawei will be 3 teams, the first team will continue to provide equipment to network operators, the second group is user-centric and development of mobile communications products, and the third team will be led by Xu, specializing in business.  In an interview with US reporters, Xu said Huawei plans to sign about $4 billion trillion of cooperation projects in 2011 to provide telephone and data services to major companies.  Although Huawei has signed some $2 billion trillion projects with several companies in 2010, Xu said he expects the annual amount of joint projects to reach $15 billion trillion over the next 3-5 years. He added, "We have a broad portfolio of products, a strong research and development team and engineering resources that will ensure that we are competitive enough to meet the needs of our business customers in a timely manner." "Huawei is also considering partnering with some internet companies to launch cloud computing services for other companies," he said. According to the plan, Huawei will provide hardware facilities, and network companies will provide software support.  But Xu declined to disclose potential partners. Xu said that although Huawei's development in the United States encountered a lot of resistance, but this does not affect the expansion of its business scope. (Gilbert)
