IBM and partners get EU's largest server contract

IBM recently and partner Bechtle AG successfully defeated HP, Dell and Fujitsu and other competitors, won the http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/3570.html "> The European Commission is worth USD 115 million for System X and flex BAE servers and service contracts. This contract covers a range of IBM FLEX system compute nodes and system x rack servers, as well as related maintenance, installation, and professional services. This is the largest server contract signed by the EU so far.

IBM and Bechtle currently offer more than 2.6 million dollars in systems and services that are expected to provide more than 6100 system X and flex systems and supporting services in the contract. This means that most other EU institutions will use x86 servers in the coming years.
