IBM stares at cloud computing in big data age

To address the challenges of the big data age, it is natural to think of cloud computing. Cloud computing technology can realize the automation management and configuration of IT resources, reduce the complexity of IT management and improve the efficiency of resource utilization. For companies, the main form of cloud computing is the private cloud, whose main business is supported by private clouds, rather than the critical business or abrupt business that can take on public cloud resources. Private clouds and public clouds need to be seamlessly connected to form a mixed cloud environment.

IBM, as a catalyst for cloud computing, is the first Internet company to provide cloud computing services to China. IBM launched the Blue Cloud computing platform on November 15, 2007, offering customers the cloud computing platform to buy. It includes a range of cloud computing products that allow computing to run in a network-like environment by architecting a distributed, globally accessible resource structure that is not limited to local machines or remote server farms (i.e., server clusters). The blue Cloud is built on the expertise of IBM's large-scale computing industry, based on open standards and open source software supported by IBM software, System technology and services. Simply put, the "Blue Cloud" is based on the cloud infrastructure of the Ibmalmaden Research Center (almadenresearchcenter), including Xen and POWERVM virtualization, Linux operating system images, and Hadoop file systems and parallel builds.

Recently, Chanda, chairman and chief executive officer of IBM Greater China, said in the IBM Forum 2012, the theme of "Technological innovation, the achievement of intellectual growth", that the new technology could provide the sustainable growth that the enterprise wants, when the Chinese demographic dividend is not likely to continue. IBM will continue to tilt its investment to emerging markets, which are China's leader.

The big data age means big resources, this is the intersection of cloud computing and big data, which means that cloud computing has two directions in relation to large data, cloud computing can host large data, and large data can provide solutions through cloud computing architectures and models. In this way, we can clearly know that large data in the direction of management and application, through cloud computing resources sharing, high scalability, service characteristics to build and operate. At present, 90% of IBM's profits come from software and services.

For a large data age, whether it is a business or a manufacturer, strategy, planning and thinking is the core, as with cloud computing, the large content of large data, need to have big thinking and high planning.
