The blue giant plans to take a series of hardening measures against its power BAE product line this week or next, but do not expect any changes to the current eight-core Power7 processor, the first to debut in February 2010 and officially put on the market last summer.
This is because unlike IBM's own data descriptions, the power7+ processor is not as close as many people think. For example, the blue giant's Competitiveness Analysis team published information at some point in September after Oracle's August preview, the SPARC T4 processor launched in September:

IBM has had other power processors and system roadmap plans in the past few months, but there are not enough bright spots, and everything hints at preparing for the end of 2011, which includes power7+ processors. When the media learned from the blue giant that October or November will release some server announcements, it is said that some servers will launch the upcoming power7+ processor, you can understand the reason. It is not clear what IBM is doing, but it is one of the initiatives that the company plans to continue to sell servers configured with the Power7 processor, according to business partners who are announcing the blue giant server.
Perhaps tomorrow we will see the true face of the power7+ processor, similar to the launch time of the "Sandy Bridge" Xeon E5 processor, which Intel plans to market early in 2012, although Intel has positioned its sales target for ultra large cloud and supercomputer users. It appears that IBM will not expose the power7+ processor for the time being, and Intel will not expose the Xeon E5 processor for the time being, so AMD may consider postponing the launch of their "Interlagos" Hao long 6200 processor. AMD has just hired a new chief executive and sacked the general manager of its product division, setting up an additional server unit to counter Intel. The "Interlagos" processor was launched in September, but later than AMD expected, because its factory partner GlobalFoundries's 32 nm process was postponed.
This will not have much impact on the power BAE users, who want you to get a bigger price discount from the existing Power7. It's always good to have a higher performance for each core, system, or each path.
The blue giant will double the content of its entry-level and intermediate power BAE Systems, according to reliable sources familiar with IBM's plans. The model will also be enhanced on the input/output and SAS disk arrays. AIX and IBM Operating systems (OS/400) are expected to perform technical updates as well.
