IDC: European companies lack understanding of big data

While big data is heating up, there are still a lot of companies that don't really understand. At a recent 2013 Data Center World Conference in London, Donna Taylor, director of EMEA Systems and architecture at the IDC Market Research Institute, said many European companies lacked understanding of big data. Tighter IT budgets mean that large data systems are just "icing on the cake" rather than "timely" for most European companies.
