Beijing time June 18 morning news, according to foreign media reports, IDC estimates that the second quarter of the global server industry will achieve sales revenue of 10.6 billion U.S. dollars, a year-on-year decline of 29.6%. While this is the fourth consecutive quarterly decline in the data, there are still some signs of stability. IDC expects the second-quarter downturn to be the most serious in the current business cycle, and expects "a big turnaround in the second half of 2009 and early 2010". In other words, the deterioration of the server sales situation will ease. IDC believes that server sales in 2009 will fall 22.1% from 2008. But many it users will be making strategic decisions on computing platforms for the remainder of 2009, contributing to server requirements for the 2010. Although IDC believes that sales in the server market will improve, IDC's forecasts show that even by 2013, global server sales are struggling to recover to 2008 levels. (PEI)
