CNET Technology Information Network May 30 IDC, the International report market analysis, said Thursday, the first quarter of this year, the global server market reached an all-time low, is expected to improve in the second half of this year, 2010 will recover. But IDC analysts have warned that server sales will face huge challenges in returning to a 60 billion dollar annual revenue in 2000. In the first quarter of the global economic downturn dragged down, companies have extended the server use cycle, delaying the purchase plan, resulting in server vendor revenue fell 24.5% to 9.9 billion U.S. dollars, shipments fell 26.5%.  In the fourth quarter last year, server vendor revenue fell 14% year-on-year, shipping volume fell 12%. "The global server market's total revenue for the first quarter of this year is less than $10 billion trillion, which is quite low, the lowest point since we started the service market 12 ago," said Jean Bozman, IDC analyst.  "In the fourth quarter of last year, the economic crisis came so abruptly that companies did not respond in a timely manner," he said.  Matt Eastwood, an IDC analyst, stressed in a statement: "The real economic recovery will wait until 2010, as users will refactor their IT productivity ahead of time, and server demand is set to improve in the second half of the year." In the first quarter of this year, the world's four major server manufacturers in the first quarter of a significant decline in revenue. HP and IBM have a market share of 29.3%, HP's first-quarter revenue decline 26%;IBM 20% year-on-year, Dell Server market share of 11%, year-on-year decline in revenue 31%;sun server market share 10.3%, revenue fell 26% year-on-year.
