The European debt crisis is the main risk of a global economic recovery, BBC News agency president Dominique Strauss-Kahn recently warned. Markets across Europe fell sharply in Tuesday (May 25), fearing the eurozone debt crisis and its adverse effects on the global economic recovery. The average price index of 100 stocks in London fell 2.54% to 4940.68 points, down to a 8-month low. The DAX index in Frankfurt, Germany fell 2.34%, while BNP Paribas's CAC Index fell 2.9%. U.S. stocks opened lower in the afternoon, local time, the standard and Poor's index fell 1.51%, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 1.55%.
