Appzero CEO Greg O ' Connor recently published the idea that in the era of cloud computing, the computational Moore's law is giving way to a new law-Bezos's law. According to this law, enterprise migration to the cloud is not a question, but a matter of time.

The so-called Moore's Law refers to the number of transistors that can be accommodated on an integrated circuit when the price is unchanged, which increases by one times every 18 months and improves performance by one time. In other words, the computer performance that every dollar can buy will be doubled every 18 months.

But the calculation of individual combat capabilities has been approaching the ceiling, O ' Connor suggests that a new model of group warfare will dictate future computing developments.

This group warfare model is cloud computing. More recently, cloud providers Google, AWS and Microsoft are carrying out a spring clean-up campaign, and the old pricing model is giving way to a new sale. The latest discounting suggests that a new business model brings with it a quantitative improvement in pricing that is pushing the exponential development of the cloud, as Moore's Law calculates.

O ' Connor named the new law the law of Bezos (founder of AMAOZN). The so-called Bezos law, refers to the history of cloud computing, the price of each unit of computing capacity will fall by about half every 3 years.

O ' Connor predicts that, in light of this trend, most businesses will shift to public cloud technology for cost, human, and maintenance savings. Because after the establishment of the Office center need to buy hardware, there are maintenance costs, power consumption, refrigeration and fixed costs, as well as the operation of the data center required for the construction and labor. In addition, enterprise-built data centers are hard to compete with cloud providers such as Google, IBM, Microsoft, and Amazon.

So while the business model and profitability of cloud computing remain questionable, the trend of Bezos's law can be established. Cloud migration is not a problem, it's a matter of time.
