On April 6, Internet domain name registration service provider Warisin (VeriSign) announced in Thursday that it plans to increase the cost of bulk registration of. com and. NET domain names to improve Internet infrastructure for more money this October 15.

According to the IDG news agency, Warisin said it could raise prices several times before the 2012 contract expires under an agreement with ICANN, the Internet domain name and address authority. According to the six-year contract signed with ICANN last March, Warisin can raise the registration price in four years, but the annual price increase for the. com domain name registration fee must not exceed 7%, but the price can be raised for security reasons or under the new ICANN policy in two outside two years.
