Install Windows 7 on a VHD file

The following operations succeeded in the VMware Workstation 6.5 virtual environment.

Installation method:

1. Start your computer with Windows 7 or Windows 2008 R2 installation CD

2, the screen appears "now installed", while pressing Press, a command Prompt window appears.

3, sequentially enter the following command

DiskPart
List disk
Select Disk 0
Clean

Clear Disk Contents

4, sequentially enter the following command

Create partition primary size=200
Format Fs=ntfs label= "System" quick
Active

Produces a 200M system partition and activates the partition

5, sequentially enter the following command

Create partition primary
Format Fs=ntfs label= "http://www.aliyun.com/zixun/aggregation/29800.html" >DISKC "Quick"
Assign Letter=c

Generate primary partition C

6, sequentially enter the following command

Create Vdisk file=c:\win2007.vhd maximum=11000 type=fixed

Select Vdisk file=c:\win2007.vhd
Attach Vdisk
Create partition primary
Format Fs=ntfs label= "Vhdboot" quick

The C disk produces a size of 11GB, the type is fixed size VHD file Win2007.vhd, and format it.

7, enter two times Exit command, return to the installation interface. Continue installation

8, choose the installation target, select VHD disk, continue installation complete!!
