It was also the third time that Intel had made additional investments in the Chengdu plant after a 75 million-dollar increase in production capacity last year during the financial turmoil. Chengdu Factory Director Shenggang said, this key link between wafer fabrication and packaging testing is settled in Chengdu, which can effectively solve the brittle problem in the process of grinding and transporting the wafer, shorten the chip production cycle by 30% to 50% and reduce the cost significantly, allowing the Intel chips to enter the market more quickly. It is reported that last year, the Intel Chengdu Packaging Test factory exports accounted for more than 80% of the total export processing zones in Chengdu, accounting for more than 30% of the export processing trade in Sichuan Province. The huge radiation effect of Intel's settled, has attracted many international High-tech enterprises to settle in Chengdu, and has promoted the formation of Chengdu High-tech Industrial cluster.
