According to foreign media reports, Intel Tuesday announced that the Intel AppUp Netbook App Store ended the test and officially launched.
In a keynote address to the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) this year, Janrini Renee James, Intel's senior vice president and general manager of software and services, announced that the Intel AppUp App Store was officially online. Earlier this year, Intel tested the AppUp App Store.
Intel says the AppUp App Store is a consumer-centric, online store dedicated to entertainment, office, network and gaming-related free and paid applications, and applications in the AppUp App Store are optimized for netbook screen sizes and mobile performance.
In addition, Doug Davis, vice president of Intel's architecture, Douglas Davis a new mobile chip CE4200 on the second day of the IDF, a chip designed for smart TVs called Groveland.
Later, Davis also launched the Intel E600 processor, which was previously known as Crossings Creek. The E600 processor is designed for embedded products such as intelligent circuit boards, car entertainment and information systems.
"The Internet has become a major environment for our work and entertainment, but handheld devices, consumer electronics and embedded applications are still in their infancy," says Mr Davis. The switch chip opens up a new application environment. ”
Dan Olds, analyst at Gabriel Consulting Group, said Intel's approach to further expanding the market for mobile devices and embedded devices was sensible, and the chips launched today may not be revolutionary, but they help push the market forward.
"This is an important market for Intel," Olds said. Although the price of a single chip is very low, the volume of shipments can be quite large. If Intel can make its processor a standard set-top box by price and sex, the sales will be significant. Intel does not want to see the market being preempted by arm or other vendors, so Intel is winning the design by moving its chips. ”
