Wang Ruichen No it giant can be as "sad and happy" as yesterday's Intel-with outstanding business data for an embarrassing big loss season. Yesterday, Intel reported its second-quarter earnings. The data showed that the revenue for the quarter was $8 billion, an increase of 12% over the previous quarter. In accordance with "non-accepted accounting standards", the net profit is USD 1 billion. It looks like it's going to be a good day alone. However, it failed to dispute the European Commission's decision to the anti-monopoly fine of 1.45 billion U.S. dollars, which directly led to the loss of intel 398 million U.S. dollars. The Intel Global CEO, Paul Otellini, is clearly happier than frustrated. In a statement, he said the company's second-quarter results showed that the global PC market was improving and that the quarter-on-quarter growth was the highest in 11 years, and that the market would strengthen further in the second half. After his first-quarter earnings, he also said the global PC industry had bottomed out. Asia Pacific (excluding Japan) regional performance accounted for an absolute proportion of Intel's performance in all regions. Earnings showed that the Americas, Europe, Japan's revenues were 1.698 billion U.S. dollars, 1.153 billion U.S. dollars, 764 million U.S. dollars, while the China-dominated Asia-Pacific region revenue is 4.409 billion U.S. dollars. Intel will say China. The company said demand from consumers in Asia, especially China, for PC products was the main factor driving the upturn. In fact, the previous week, Intel Global vice president, China's regional president Yang in Shanghai has been to CBN reporters disclosed the above information. He said Intel was following China's macro policy to expand demand in the domestic demand market. But Intel's partners are making a different sound. The giant Dell has repeatedly argued against it, saying that the PC market has been on the up but not bottoming out, especially in the global corporate-class market. Otellini clearly did not ignore this. He said the overall picture of chip consumption is improving, consumer business remains the strongest sector of the company, and corporate market spending remains weak. That means Intel will face a tougher profit-slip challenge. Over the past year or so, it has shifted its focus to sales of middle-and low-end processors, which directly lower the price of the processor's products. Earnings showed that the average processor price was "slightly lower than in the previous quarter", except for the Ling processor. The giant will also face a tightening day. Its 12-inch plant is in the process of a full-scale upgrade and will cost $7 billion for the next two years. Over the past year, Intel has continued to integrate its multiple testing plants in China, including the closure of its Shanghai plant, which is an important goal in reducing operating costs. At the same time, Intel will continue to face an uncertain antitrust risk. Although it has appealed against it, the 1.45 billion-dollar fine is not available to the EU during the lawsuit, but Intel is not sure. Its rival AMD is continuing to launch antitrust charges against it in South Korea, Japan, the US and even the Chinese market. If the EU succeeds, Intel may have more trouble.
