February 18, according to foreign media reports, Intel spokesman said local time Thursday, the company plans to launch the first half of this year, code-named Westmere-ex 10 nuclear Xeon server. Intel does not disclose the Westmere-ex clock frequency, but says that more cores and delay times shorten, making westmere-ex performance higher than Nehalem-ex. Nehalem-ex is a 8-core processor that Intel launched last year. Westmere-ex high-end servers for data centers, servers can be configured up to 8 chips, each with two threads to run, so the server that configures Westmere-ex can run up to 160 threads. The Westmere-ex PIN is compatible with the Nehalem-ex and facilitates the user to upgrade the server. Intel says the 2-way server that configures the Westmere-ex chip supports up to 2TB of RAM. The WESTMERE-EX chip uses 32 nm process, based on Westmere architecture.
