Phoenix Technology News Beijing time September 12, according to a Bloomberg report, Intel said at the information Technology summit in Wednesday that Asus and Toshiba will launch a PC based on the company's newest Haswell processor, Google Chrome OS system. Existing Chromebook partners HP and Acer are also developing devices based on Haswell processors. Intel showed four Chrome OS PCs in Wednesday to expand the device product line and the Chrome OS manufacturer partner camp. As smartphones and tablets are gaining popularity among consumers, Intel is also working to expand the few segments of the PC market where growth is achieved. Haswell will improve the performance of the lower-priced Chrome OS PC because Chrome OS is more reliant on Internet services than traditional PC systems. "This shows that Intel is taking Chrome OS seriously," said Doug Fisher, director of Intel's software department, "and we don't know what size the Chrome OS device market will be, but if it's big, we don't want to be Doug Fischer." Sandega Pichai Sundar Pichai, Google's senior vice president, said at the IDF that Google planned to continue to expand its equipment, hoping to see more competitive Chrome OS devices.
