By 2020, the amount of new and replicated information around the world will reach 40ZB, 12 times times more than 2012 years, with data from China expected to 8ZB,IDC. China's large data and data analysis will face great opportunities. So, how to grasp the opportunities brought by large data, using large data to solve energy, security and other aspects of the problem, for enterprises and even the community to bring real value?

Intel Corporation and Cloudera Company held a cooperative initiation ceremony in Beijing on May 8, 2014. Ling, China Regional director, Intel Industry cooperation and Solutions, vice President of Intel Architecture Division and general manager of the data center software department, Boyd Davis,cloudera, founder and chief strategy officer Mike Olson, Miaokai, the chief technology officer of the China region, the Intel Data Center Software division, attended the event, and both sides showed great importance.

In the recent March, Intel and Cloudera announced the establishment of strategic technology and business partnerships. Intel subsequently invested 740 million of dollars in Cloudera, the Hadoop company, which made it a 18% per cent stake in the data analysis company. Large sums of money will be used to develop new technologies, including a team that is helping to put Intel's own Hadoop patch into Cloudera's source code, while expanding its sales team to Europe, Asia and China;

In a ceremony of cooperation on the theme of "strong joint focus on China's leading data", Intel and Cloudera announced the establishment of a Cloudera business in China in September, which will be the direct sales, technical support and service team in China. The two will continue to strengthen strategic partnership and develop innovative cooperation to further promote China's large data technology and industrial development.

"From a technical or commercial point of view, Intel and Cloudera cooperation can be a combination of strong, complementary, benefiting the industry to describe." "The Big Data innovation vision that Intel has been working on is to help partners and users develop truly diverse, differentiated applications on top of open architecture data platforms," said Boyd Davis, vice president and managing director of data center software at Intel Corporation data Center. To ensure that every industry and field can benefit from the big Data age, and cloudera cooperation not only means that we can achieve the 1+1>2 effect on the software and hardware level of this platform, but also help to accelerate the innovation of various Apache Hadoop projects, This will bring more help and contribution to the development of the open source community and the innovation of the global data industry. ”

Cloudera company founder and chief strategist Mike Olson briefly introduced the company: Cloudera was founded in 2008, the main business purpose is to complete the commercialization of Hadoop transformation. Today, it has 500 employees and more than 900 business partners. Cloudera has helped many business users, including AMD, to migrate workloads from traditional systems such as Oracle databases to Hadoop. Doug Cutting, one of the founders of Hadoop, is currently working for Cloudera company.

Cloudera has been recognized as a major acquisition target for many enterprise IT companies such as SAP, Oracle and IBM. But future acquisitions will be very difficult. The collaboration is likely to prompt Cloudera to alienate other processor architectures under Intel's guidance, such as those designed by Oracle, IBM (sparc/power) and arm.

"Intel's previous practice in China's large data industries and markets, and its success in its acquisition, as well as the industrial environment in which China encourages the development of large data technology and applications, is a key factor in our determination to accelerate our access to the Chinese market," said Mr. Mike Olson, founder and chief strategist at Cloudera. This means that China is a key market for Intel and Cloudera, and we want to expand our business further to help companies in China, and around the world, find high-value information from big data. This allows users to leverage the solutions we have teamed up with Intel to achieve a fundamental transformation or breakthrough in the business with the support of authoritative experts in the field of data management and analysis. At the same time, our cooperation with Intel will also provide customers with more advanced products and services that suit their needs. ”

Mike said the biggest goal of the partnership is not only to promote common development, but also to provide an open source platform for users. There are 4 key points:

Intel invests 740 million US dollars to Cloudera (Intel's largest data center venture capital) to represent the former's commitment to large data;

The two sides will drive innovation through open source – accelerating the development of Hadoop through basic technology cooperation, and allowing more open source developers to innovate on the Hadoop platform;

Intel will enable Hadoop to perform optimally on the IA architecture product.

The partnership will build a wide range of large data-solution partner ecosystems.

"Cloudera plans to set up a business in China in September and will conduct direct sales, technical support and service teams in China," Mike announced, "Cloudera will work with Intel to deliver the most powerful, secure, full-featured, and highest-performing Hadoop releases in China, and provide the best technical support services to Chinese users.

"Product cooperation between the two sides will ensure differentiated Hadoop performance based on the Intel hardware platform," said Miaokai, chief technical officer of China, Intel Data center software.

In the area of IDH/CDH integration, Miaokai points out that the two sides will deliver the IDH/CDH fusion version and work together to CDH the road map to accelerate the implementation of IDH targets.

Cloudera and Intel are on a visit to China only one months after the partnership, driven by a consensus between the two sides and the industry as a whole on the prospects for a boom in China's big data market. Predictably, Intel, with its Cloudera, will receive tremendous support in the open source large data platform, and its sophisticated ecosystem will help Cloudera to develop.
