Beijing Time May 26 news, according to foreign media reports, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) recently estimated that by 2015, 50% of the world's population will have broadband access. Since 2003, the global Internet population has doubled and the current penetration rate has exceeded 25%, the ITU said. But there is still room for greater improvement, especially in developing countries. The ITU said: "The importance of the Internet has been widely recognized, what needs to be done is to do their best to improve the number of netizens." "At present, the prevalence of television in the home is 75%, but the internet is only 25%, obviously inadequate." In some developing countries, home internet penetration is even 12%. The ITU also says that the maturity of mobile technology will help more and different kinds of devices access the Internet. Currently, the mobile network covers nearly 90% of the world's population, even in rural and remote areas, users can still access the Internet. (Zebian: The King of Emotions)
