Introduction to open Cloud computing strategic alliance

April 20, 2012, Atos, EMC and VMware announced an open cloud computing strategic alliance. In addition, Atos plans to set up a company called canopy to accelerate delivery and help users enjoy the benefits of cloud computing faster by providing a wide range of cloud computing solutions and services. With EMC and VMware Technology, the new product will provide an open cloud platform that enables customers to easily select, access, and deploy cloud services based on enterprise IT needs.

The newly established canopy company will provide a market-leading one-stop cloud service store, supporting the enterprise organizations to a cost-effective, easy and safe acceleration into the cloud era. In addition to providing technical support for Atos new products, as part of the strategic Alliance, EMC and VMware are interested in investing with Atos to drive canopy solution innovation to be successfully accepted by the market.

The latest strategic cloud offerings will be based on open standards, enabling customers to choose the technologies that are best suited to their business needs, whether they are running internal or external solutions, or combining private cloud, public cloud, and mixed cloud solutions. The Enterprise application store employs EMC and VMware technology, enabling customers around the world to choose, Access, and download their own applications in software, SaaS mode. The store will provide horizontal (cross-industry) and industry specific business applications.

The enterprise platform, a service (PaaS), employs EMC and VMware Technology, managed by Atos, provides a secure environment for enterprise Java Development, and provides canopy and its users with a standard development framework for designing, developing, and testing new cloud applications in this environment.

Private Cloud employs EMC and VMware Technologies to provide customers with prefabricated, standardized, enterprise-class cloud stacks for internal or external deployments to improve cloud readiness.
