China Mobile maps and local business markets are dominated by Baidu and Alibaba, said T.h.capital, an investment company, which released its investment report today. But the mobile local business market is relatively dispersed, the first two service providers in the public comment network and the United States network total market share is less than 30%.
The following is a summary of the contents of the report:
Mobile Map Market by Baidu, Gould Software and Google partition: In the mobile map market, Baidu Map market share of 35%. The company, which owns about 28% per cent of its shares, followed suit, with a market share of 28.2%. And Google Maps ranked third, with a market share of about 21.3%. In addition, Sogou map market share of 3.5%, and Tencent map for 1.8%. This share is based on the cumulative amount of downloads for each mobile map application as of December 27, 2013.
The mobile local business market is relatively fragmented: the main mobile local businesses include restaurants (such as reviews, takeaway and top-tops), comprehensive group deals, classified information, group purchase aggregators and coupons. Our data shows that China Mobile's local business market is relatively dispersed, the first two service providers in the public comment network and the United States Group Network (Alibaba Investment) total market share of only 29.8%. Excluding support for local business functions of the comprehensive application, such as Baidu Mobile search and Tencent micro-letter, Baidu market share of about 7.9%, Tencent about 0.9%.
Mobile local business growth is rapid: August 9, 2013 to December 27, the United States Group Network application Total download growth of 90.4%, a good deal (Alibaba Holdings) growth of 153.9%, Baidu Group purchase growth of 384.3%, glutinous Rice Net (Baidu holding 59% shares) growth 59.5%, the public comment network for 59%. For classified information applications, 58 of the same city and net grew by 58.1% and 25.2% respectively.
