After 6 hours of testing, the IPhone, which runs iOS 7.1, is down to 61%, while the remaining charge is 76% in iOS 7.1.1. Kingsley-hughes says he has come up with similar results after many tests.

Apple has been exploring new technologies to improve the power of the equipment, including from the hardware itself, to achieve better endurance. Apple's new patent, known as "inferring user intent based on battery usage and charging trends", in late March, describes a way in which mobile devices can monitor the charging and discharging processes of batteries, as well as monitoring data to predict what users will do at some point in the future. By using these predictions, a device can change many properties, including screen brightness or CPU frequency, to retain battery power or enhance processing power.
