It's not just humans who need to wear a health tracker.

Chicago will install sensors on the streets this summer to measure temperature, humidity, lighting, sound, air quality, crowd density, road conditions and even communication signals. Governments, institutions, and the public are free to access and use the information online at any time.

The sensor box, designed by the Chicago Institute of Art, is integrated into the light box shown above and can be collected in real time, not only to facilitate people's real-time access to the environment, traffic information, but also to help the relevant part of the real-time monitoring of environmental pollution.

Although some cities have collected similar environmental data in the past, Chicago is the first city to use fixed sensors to collect relevant data.

However, there is still a big controversy over the collection of passenger data. The project is intended to monitor mobile phones, tablets and other devices such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signal to judge the flow of people, but the public may violate the privacy of the behavior is still more objectionable.

This is part of the Array of Things project, which will be piloted in Chicago this summer, and the project sponsors hope to expand to the United States in the near future.
