The Institute has made a database of about 10,000 accidental children who have been hospitalized at the National Centre for Adult Medical Research in Japan. According to the report, Japanese parents often say "accidental injuries" after abusing children, but the system can be used to compare the information of the database, showing the risk of injury as an accident, to help doctors make correct judgments.

Researchers at the Institute's Digital Ergonomics Research Center said that the database contained information on children's gender, age, developmental stage, accident or injury category, injury site, and site situation. If a child is injured to come to see a doctor, enter similar information, through with the database will show "The cause of injury is the chance of accident." For example, the result of entering a "thigh root burn" in the database shows that the chance of an accident causing the injury is only 6.9%, and the likelihood of being abused is high.

According to reports, of the 24 cases that have been identified as ill-treatment in the system, 22 of the results indicate that the risk of injury is less than 20% and that the likelihood of child abuse is high.
