Original sha-224,sha-256,sha-384, and SHA-512 hash support has been added. The makefile has been modified so that it can be used properly on Solaris.
John the Ripper is a fast password cracking tool that supports many different types of system architectures, including Linux, UNIX, Windows, DOS, BeOS, and OpenVMS. The main purpose is to crack the weak Unix system password. It supports several types of crypt (3) hash type passwords for UNIX systems, as well as Windows LM types. In addition, many additional hash types are added to the patch, and some are added in the John the Ripper Professional Edition.
John the Ripper is a free open-source software used to try to crack the plaintext password software in the case of known ciphertext, supporting most of the current cryptographic algorithms, such as DES, MD4, MD5, and so on.
