Knowledge is no longer a commodity passed from classroom to student

In a group of forward-looking educators, knowledge today is no longer a commodity passed from the classroom to students, but rather a change to the success of a student's curiosity-driven search for funding. The teacher's responsibility is to enlighten the students, not the providers of the answers.

Mitra, a professor of educational technology at Newcastle University in the UK, has been working on this for years, and he has achieved amazing results through this inspirational instructional approach.

In a 2010 study, he left a computer with molecular biology in a village in southern India and selected a group of 10~14岁 children to test them, telling them that there were some interesting things in the computer and then leaving the children to grope for themselves.

In the days that followed, the children learned how to operate computers and began to learn about their biology, and 75 days later, Mitra a molecular biology test to see if they could answer about 1/4 of the questions. After 75 days, the correct rate is almost 100%.

Earlier this year, he received 1 million of dollars in research from Ted, and he is currently organising 7 "cloud Schools", 5 in India and 2 in the UK. There are no traditional teachers in these schools, and of course there is no traditional education model, not even the age to assign grades, only a few computers and a staff responsible for student safety. "Cloud School" is the glass outside the wall, the outside can see the situation at a glance, Mitra also hired some retired British teachers, they will be through Skype for these students to conduct appropriate guidelines.
