Kodak split into two independent companies will enter the software field

Science and Technology Daily News (reporter Wangtingting), the Kodak company officially announced that the British Kodak Pension Plan (KPP) has completed the Eastman Kodak Company's personalized image and document Imaging business acquisition, and set up a company called Kodak Alaris. It is understood that Eastman Kodak and Kodak Alaris are two independent companies, but the latter also has a permanent license to use the Kodak brand, the newly established Kodak Alaris estimated annual revenue of about 1.3 billion dollars. Kodak Alaris acquired the personalized image and document Imaging business of old Kodak, with more than 4,700 employees in 30 countries. This is a wholly-owned, independent operation of KPP, completely without any debt burden of the new company. Kodak Alaris said the new company has the innovative strength, plans to expand the business to the software domain, to the information management direction transformation. Eastman Kodak was created by American inventor George Ishman in 1880. In the film age, the company was the world's leading information and imaging industry leader. But with the popularity of digital cameras and later smartphones, Kodak gradually declined, with a debt of $6.75 billion trillion, filed for bankruptcy protection in January 2012. Since then, Kodak through the sale of patents, stripping business, and other means of the resurrection, and last month formally out of bankruptcy protection.
