The first beta version of Kororaa 16 (code-named CHUM) has been released and available for download, including 32-bit and 64-bit versions of KDE and GNOME. This new release includes significant updates for most packages and cores, Office and desktop (KDE 4.7 and Gnome 3.2).
Upgrade
Currently, upgrades to version 16 of the existing version of 15 will need to wait until the final release, and the current version is still in beta. For users who want to test this version, it is recommended that you perform a new installation or use a virtual machine. It uses a live DVD, so you can test it without having to install it.
Known Issues
Some of Gnome's plug-ins are causing crashes in Gnome-shell-extension-alternative-status-menu not included in the beta. Shutdown, hold down the ALT key while passing the Suspend option in the menu. Search (ALT + F2) causes the shell to crash in Gnome. Jockey (proprietary driver manager) was accidentally omitted, but can be installed (gnome: JOCKEY-GTK jockey-selinux KDE: Jockey-kde jockey-selinux)
Desktop Edition
The GNOME 3 Desktop customizable theme and several extensions to provide an enhanced user experience (and help ease the transition from gnome2.x to users). It also has a gnome adjustment tool that allows further customization.
KDE Desktop can customize the layout of some specific default applications, such as FIREFOX,VLC media and so on.
