Kate is a multiple document editor under Linux. Developed by Christoph Cullmann, and is based on the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL) Version 2 license release. Based on the rewritten version of KWrite, Kate not only provides all the features of KWrite, but also adds a lot of unique features. Since Kate 2.2, it has been moved to KDE4 's KDESDK package and as an integral part of the desktop. As a KDE native program, Kate is naturally born with network transparency and incorporates the best features of KDE. Kate can be used to view HTML source code from Konqueror browsers, edit configuration files, write new programs, or do other text editing tasks. Kate is a multi-view editor. Session

The session function is in the following three places

command-line options allow you to select and enable a session when you start Kate from the command line

Session menu allows you to select, save, enable, manage your session

Configuration options allow you to determine the definition of a session

When you start a new session, Kate enables the interface configuration for the default sessions. You need to click the session-save as default to modify the default session.

Document List

The document list displays all of the files that Kate has opened, and the modified file has a floppy icon to display, and if you open 2 and more files with the same name (Files of different folders with the same name), the document list will be marked with <2>.

You can define how the list of documents is sorted by the right mouse click List.
